Graphic design Artist and 2 Letter project

The Artist I chose was Harry Beck. I found it interesting that he was an English technical who created the London Underground Tube Map in 1931. The underground lines had been laid out geographically. As it was Becks idea of creating a full system map in color, he believed that passengers were more concerned about getting to one station to another, rather than geographic accuracy. Becks design actually ended up being very successful.

Monday, November 4, 2019

Hey guys sorry I’m late but my name is Erica Blackman and I am a a criminal justice major. I look forward to graduating in May and hope to learn many great things from this class as I am not so good with graphic design.

What's due this week?

Graphic Design:  Watch videos on designing with 2 large letter forms in a square format and using layer blends.  Videos are in 2 pars, Part 1 and 2, and are linked in the syllabus.  Write a short review of a graphic designer's work from the master list of graphic designers also linked in the syllabus.  Begin work on Stamp Project, watch video, gather images, etc. Post your 4 designs to the blog along with your artist review.

Photography Post 6-10 edited images from the assignment Introduction to Composition, watch my videos on how to edit your work... The images should not include sky and the geometric elements should fill the frame.  Don't take a picture of a whole building or a whole monument.  Again, it is important to watch the videos to see what my expectations are and how to use Photoshop to edit your work.

All work is dues before 9 am, Monday morning.

Kayla Hansen Introduction

Hi guys! My name is Kayla Hansen or Kay for short.  While I attended Albertus my freshman year, I ended up transferring to Western Connecticut State University and this past May completed my BA Musical Theatre degree with a minor in Wellness Management.  Post graduation, I wanted to pursue interests that I had lost touch with in recent years and photography has always been a topic I have wanted to further explore, so here I am back at the Bert! I currently work a management position at lululemon and saving up as much as possible to make the move to the Big Apple in the near future.

Tim Intro

Hello class, my name is Timothy McCormack but please feel free to call me Tim. I work the third shift as a manager in a factory, and am pursing a business management degree. I feel having this degree with be able to increase my ability to effectively manage my team of employees as well as become a greater asset to the company. For this weeks self portrait I attempted a shadow portrait. The inspiration behind my post was to include some key elements that are major components in my life. This is attempted to be shown by swinging a golf club in the portrait. The next component would be the dog bowls. My dog is very important to me, as well as all animals. Dogs can be a great companion and my Beaux is definitely that. I hope to learn some new techniques with photos, and be able to find a new hobby potentially. The whole idea of being creative is a great break away from all the business heavy material in my previous course loads! This being said I look forward to having the ability to think in an abstract sense which will show
my personality.
